Why vote for me?

I am ACCOMPLISHED

As a parent of a WPS alumna (Class of 2020), I have worked to improve Watertown schools for 18 years.

I served on the Watertown School Committee 2020-2023 (including the Building & Grounds, Budget & Finance, and Policy Subcommittees).

I chaired the Ad Hoc Career, Vocational, and Technical Education (CVTE) Committee in 2023.

I have co-chaired the Lowell, WMS, and WHS Site Councils.

The experience and history that I bring would provide an important perspective to the School Committee.

I am DEDICATED

Anyone who knows me, or has heard me speak, knows that I am passionate about public school education, and WPS specifically.

My entire family was educated K-12 in public schools.

I held a Secondary School English teaching certificate from Massachusetts (that has long since expired).

I feel that the current climate is trying to turn away from public schools –

to the possible detriment of a generation, this nation, and, more locally, our city and its faculty and staff.

I am driven to lift our schools up, to shine like the jewels that I know they are in preparing our students for life after WPS.

I am COMMUNITY-FOCUSED

I see myself as a candidate that fills a gap –

a Watertown community member for the past 29 years who does not have a child in the schools now.

If elected, I view my role as having an extra mission –

to connect WPS to the Watertown community at-large, not just parents and caregivers.

That extra mission includes providing information to and representing the diverse views of the Watertown community;

ensuring that we find connections and opportunities to include the entire community for events;

and helping our students explore opportunities to connect with their city and its residents at every possible turn.
